Ifrah Foundation works for the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation. Founded in 2010 by Ifrah Ahmed, an Irish- Somali survivor. Ifrah Foundation has been active in Somalia since 2013, where it is a registered Civil Society Organisation (CSO). Ifrah Foundation is also a registered charity in Ireland.
Ifrah Ahmed is one of the world's foremost international FGM/C eradication advocate & activist. Ifrah has received multiple awards for her work and she campaigns relentless to end FGM/C around the world.

Ifrah Foundation Advocacy Coordinator for the past 2.5 years, holds a BA in international relations and 6 years’ experience in the field of development.
Campaigns
The 2020 Somalia Health and Demographic Survey (SHDS) stated 98% of women and girls still undergo FGM, in spite of the resources applied to eradicating FGM in Somalia over many years. A radically different approach is required if we are to bring about an end to Female Genital Mutilation in Somalia, as mandated by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No 5 by 2030.

Our Communication and Community Empowerment Coordinator at Ifrah Foundation has been with us since mid-2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and a Diploma in Social Work and Community Development.
